about

“Way Out Brother/Train” - The studio version of this song appeared on the “Black Is Back” album in 2010. Even though the studio version was released in 2010, this song goes way back to the early days of Fade To Black. The band tried to record this song in 1990, but they were not satisfied with the outcome, so they waited twenty years to finally record it. The live version has a very different feel to it than the studio version. Recorded live on 10/14/2010 - Uli's Haus of Rock - Lansing, MI Mike Anderson - lead vocals Eldon McGraw - lead guitar/back-up vocals Randy Matthews - rhythm guitar/back-up vocals Jeff Behrendt - bass guitar/back-up vocals Casey Chahine - drums Live sound recorded by Lochabar Sound - Ikes Taylor - Recording Engineer. Music mixed and mastered by Eldon McGraw and Jeff Behrendt.

lyrics

"Way Out Brother/Train" - lyrics by Randy Matthews

Give me a road and I'll take it home
Some place I'd rather be
Give me some space to sit in my place
It's better than wait and see

Give me some time to make up my mind
I know with time I'll eventually find

My way-out brother
From another
Way-out brother
Who's your father?

Give some rope and I'll hold out hope
Spacemen will come for me
God of the sky - it isn't a lie
Jesus was there to see

Stick to your guns and we'll all be suns
Of the graces left you and me

From the way-out brother
From another
Way-out Brother
From the Mother ship

Well, the train keeps a rollin'
Keeps a rollin' round the bend
And your life keeps a goin'
Keeps a going' til the end
So don't justify ad existence that's a lie - Oh yeah

Why do you think there's only one way out
I found a way- it's to yell and scream and shout
I don't want to be as rigid as a tree
Oh, God help me - I just want to be free

And the train keeps a rollin'
Keeps a rollin' round the bend
And your life keeps a goin'
Keeps a going' til the end
So don't justify ad existence that's a lie - Oh yeah

Why do you think there's only one way out
I found a way- it's to yell and scream and shout
Don't you go and tell me I got it all wrong
Look at our masses - see us get strong

And the train keeps a movin'
Keeps a movin' down the track
And your life keeps a movin like it's never coming back

And the train keeps a movin'
Keeps a moving down the rail
And your life keeps a movin' though its moving like a snail

So don't justify and existence that's a life - Oh yeah

Why do you think there's only one way out
I found a way- it's to yell and scream and shout
I don't want to be as rigid as a tree
Oh, God help me - I just want to be free
